At the age of 86, Indian business legend Ratan Tata passed away.
The Tata Group issued a statement that read: "It is with a profound sense of loss that we bid farewell to Mr. Ratan Naval Tata, a truly uncommon leader whose immeasurable contributions have shaped not only the Tata Group but also the very fabric of our nation."
With an empire spanning from salt pans to aircraft and from Jaguar Land Rover to Tata Steel, the 155-year-old Tata Group gained notoriety as a "salt-to-software" conglomerate under Tata's direction.
